This accordion hurricane shutter application is the most common installation on a home.  All windows on a flat wall with no obstacles are installed with a wall header track top and bottom, with side closures to the left and right.  Side closures may be installed with a flat starter and an angle attached with self-drilling screws or a direct side closure which is installed directly to the top and bottom wall header.  This results in a stronger and more cosmetically appealing installation.

It is also the most compact-designed rolling shutter, providing a less intrusive appearance on the side of a home or high-rise. Tested and approved for Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, Nautilus Shutters undergo extensive and rigorous testing, including large missile impact tests, and are Florida Building Code approved for Non-High Velocity and High Velocity Hurricane Zones 

These shutters can be closed with a remote control or a wall switch making them very convenient.

Hurricane storm panels are more labor intensive than Accordion Shutter and Roll-Down Shutters to put up before a storm, but they do provide adequate hurricane protection.
